Sunbeam Ice Shaver
Great ice shaver. Handles the largish curved ice "cubes" that my freezer makes without any problems. Ice cube chamber holds a good two cups of ice cubes and this machine powers through them all without any problems. No ice cube jams to date which appears to be problematic with other model reviews.
Very easy to set up and operate. My kids make their own snow cones - youngest is 10 and old enough to be aware of the blade involved in shaving ice. Even if they disassemble the machine the two parts we detach to rinse and dry (the bowl and ice cube chamber) do not contain the blade.
Shaved ice is collected in a bowl at the base of the machine. We don't use the mixing paddle at all, preferring to add liquid later to the ice in a glass. This way the bowl and ice chamber are simply rinsed and left out to dry on a dish rack without the need to wash out any sugary drink mix from the bowl. However, instructions say bowl and ice chamber are dishwasher safe.
