Lifesmart 1500watt heater
I have already owned a similar one for a year now and am very pleased
I have no Idea why others complain that it doesn't heat the 1500 sq. ft .I does, they must have missed the part that says its not to be used alone as the sole heat source.
I use this heater in my bed room and parrot room, and haven't had any issues with loss of humidity
the washable filter and remote is a bonus
A good concept but "iffy" execution
So, first the positives about this unit: the wood cabinet is attractive and stays cool to the touch. The washable filter and remote control are a big plus. It has several heat settings to choose from, which is another plus.
But here are things not mentioned in the blurb about the unit, but are mentioned in the owners' manual. When deciding where to put it, the area in front of and behind the unit must be clear of any other items for several feet. So no putting it with its back to a wall. But the larger issue is that this unit needs its own circuit. Not just its own electrical outlet, but a circuit all its own. It draws too much power so it would trip the circuit breaker if other things are running on the same circuit. Pretty impractical, in my opinion. Naturally you'd want this unit in a room you're using, and presumably using other electrical appliances that are on the same circuit. (Most electrical circuits are 15 amps. When this unit is running at full power it would be...
Works Just Until Warranty Ends And Then It Dies
I wish I had read more reviews before I purchased this brand of infrared heater. Like so many other customers, I bought the unit in November and it stopped working in January. It was effective when it did work, although mine never did register the ambient temperature. I do not think it is coincidence that the Owner's Manual had nothing to say about the error code, "E1". That is what the display will show when the unit's heating system wears out. The manufacturer of this heater may bring in a lot of customers with its promises of lowering bills, but it won't keep customers with these durability problems. It seems that LifeSmart must have programmed a short life into its infrared heaters, which does ensure that the customer will purchase a second unit, but doesn't build loyalty. If you buy this heater, you will be happy with it for about 90 days. Just consider it to be disposable and you won't be disappointed.
