Dimplex Contemporary Convertible II Electric Fireplace

Dimplex Contemporary Convertible II Electric Fireplace - Still Nice
I bought this fireplace to go outside on my covered porch about six months ago. I was slow to provide a review as I at least wanted to see how it held up in this atmosphere after a few months. Well I really did not buy it for necessarily for a lot of heat , more for looks. And it has not let me down. It does produce heat but since my configuration is outside, I really cant say how much heat it would give off inside. But it is sure worth the try.... i love it and my back yard is an extention of my home.

Cadet Manufacturing 79202 240-Volt White Electric Forced Air Heater, 4000-Watt

Excellent Heater
We purchased this heater as a replacement for a gas wall heater that was disconnected by the power company many years ago, deemed unsafe to operate. The Cadet 4000W was professionally installed, requiring both a carpenter for framing and sheetrock, and an electrician. The heater required a separate 240V feed, which was branched off of the dryer circuit. The Heater was easy to install and works very well. We have approx. 850sqft home in Bay Area, CA. This heater is capable of heating the entire space, but we usually keep a couple of rooms closed off. We had been using 1250W space heaters, the Cadet is a huge improvement, no more blown circuits. It heats the space quickly and is fairly quiet. We did our own heat-loss calcs and decided on the 4000W unit. We also liked that it has a two pole thermostat which means it can be switched entirely off. The one weakness is in the thermostat that is mounted in the cabinet, it does not seem to be very sensitive, but is adequate. For more $$$ it...

Comfort Zone CZ442 Comfort Zone

Perfect for under my desk...
Purchased this little heater last winter. I have used it every day for two winters now and it works well. I really like that it has a safety function so that it automatically shuts off when it isn't upright. Super helpful in the event I accidentally kick it over. I don't know that this would be appropriate to heat a room but it certainly helps with the chill in my office.

Didn't last 6 months.
This heater was ok for the time I had it and it worked. It is still within the year warranty period and it stopped working after a few months. I tried (2 weeks ago) contacting Comfort zone via their website and have recieved no response. Bought for 20 bucks at Wal-mart, cheap junk. Will not be buying this brand or from Wal-mart again.

Lasko 33" Touch Control Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

Energy saver
SAMS has a couple of these towers available, one being the Lasko, the other a Delonghi (which I never heard of). The reviews of the Delonghi are pretty bad, especially the electronics. In my opinion, the simpler the device the better. Howwever, this Lasko has very good reviews, and I also have their tower fans that have lasted for 5 years plus. Also, in these energy sensitive days, where you pay 11 to 12 cents per KWH, these towers consume electric heating at 1.5 KW. That means 18 cents an hour. So, to save energy in the winter, there is absolutely no need to heat the whole house throughout the night, especially if there are only two occupied bedrooms (or less). So, if you set the room thermostat at, say 55 or 60 degrees, and set the house thermostat at, say 50 (or less for you of envigorating character), you can have a comfortable existance. You can thermostatically turn on the main house unit at say, an hour before you get up to unchill the house. Anyhow, this heater will more than...

it pays for itself
i have gas heat and was paying $350 month for a small house in florida during the winter. i intalled a programmable timer and the heat kicks on for an hour every morning while we shower and dress. the rest of the day i use this lasko in the living area. i stay very warm and my heating bill dropped to $100. the price of this heater is $49 and i save $250 month. def worth it! btw... i love the auto shutoff feature. i set the temp at 76 or 78 and it kicks off auto when the room reaches that temp.

Awesome!
I bought two of these at Sams for $49.00 each and absolutely love them. They are quite and fit in a very small area. After they get to the desired temp they shut themself off and then cycle back on. I think they dress up any room. Starting heating the room up right away!! I am ready for a cold night now!

Holmes Triple Ceramic Heater with Comfort Control Thermostat Gray

Great Product - Arrived Quickly
After seeing how well one of these worked for my parents (for the past 3 years), I decided to get one for myself. I ordered it on a Monday and received it by Thursday. (A week ahead of expectation.) I've seen other reviews of this product and can tell you that its fan is NOT loud and it doesn't stink like burnt plastic when used. The remote control is a great feature and a plus. It's exactly what I expected. I saw it cheaper at Target ($34.98) but they were in season clearance sale and out of stock until next winter in the city where I live. With list price at around $132, this price is still a bargain.

Great customer service
I bought this heater last winter and had no problems with it. However, this fall the heater stopped heating on a regular basis. I began shopping for another brand of heater when I decided to call Holmes to see if there was anything they would do for me, despite not having my receipt.

They very helpfully found me a similar, but newer model heater and shipped it out to me free of charge. They said I could dispose of the one that wasn't working. I'm incredibly impressed by how helpful Holmes was. I will definitely look for more Holmes products as a result of their great customer service and warranty.

Working great so far
I got this only a few days ago, but so far it's working awesome. The oscillation helps spread the heat, the heater sits up off the ground a little so you don't have to worry about spilled liquids or overheating carpet, and the digital thermometer is nice for automatic heat regulation.

The only complaint I have is this... there is no audio feedback when changing the temperature with the remote, and since IR is unreliable you don't know for sure that you actually did change the temperature or if the signal was lost and the temp did not change. Strange oversight by engineering since the reliability of IR really is poor.

Anyhow, I highly recommend this over the more dumb heaters where you just turn it to a preset 1/2/3 and let it continue forever. Temp regulated space heating is the best :D

Northgate Floor Lamp Electric Outdoor Heater

but worked only a week
Received the lamp It is beautiful worked great and then quit. Called the company they told me the fuse must have blown even thought I told them I went out and bought one they said it had to be their fuse So waited for it to come tried it didn't work Called them again they asked me what color was the light bulb and told them black and right away told me it was the bulb and they will send me a new one as soon as they get them in stock which by the way will be about a month The Customer Service department was great no trouble at all (except for the fuse item)willing to help I just hope winter isn't over before we get it working again

Really don't know how it works as I did not put it together. The heater may be the best but not for the use I wanted.
Am returning this product because I did not see anywhere that you could not use it on a balcony until I read the booklet enclosed with the lamp. Bought it for my grandson who lives in an apartment and he does not have the space required to use this type of heater. Was disappointed because I was so glad to find an outside heater that looked so good.

Warm Foot Foot Warmer (Black) (21"H x 16"W x 1"D)

keeps feet warm, but no switch or timer; expensive
Size: 13 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches. This isn't included in the description.
I bought this foot warmer a few years ago though I can't remember where or what the price was, but $58 (as of January 2012) is expensive when you can buy Indus-Tool FWXXX Cozy Electric Foot Warming Pad for $36.40.
It does warm nicely after a few minutes, almost too warm.
The mat has a 5 1/2-foot cord but no switch, so I had to plug/unplug it each time I used it; the outlet is behind a desk and not easy to access. To overcome this inconvenience I bought a cheap switch that I plugged into a short extension cord which is plugged into the outlet, and the foot warmer plugs into the switch. Now I have the switch within reach. Still, I have to remember to turn it off.

This is from the WARNING tag attached to the cord:
Do not cover mat with anything. Covering can cause a possible overheating condition and damage to...

Luv That Foot Warmer!
Purchased the Bird-X foot warmer with some apprehension after reading some of the other reviews. My warmer arrived in just four days....almost instant
gratification. Plugged it in straight away. I did not have any problem whatsoever with the "new rubber smell". The unit takes about 10 minutes to heat
up fully....and it is heaven. We live in the mountains of Colorado so the temperature is often below zero. The unit can actually too hot after about a
half hour but that is perfect.... Luv That Foot Warmer!

Started melting my the soles of my shoes!
I found this in a free bin at a thrift store and the unit works so well at getting hot that it was melting the soles of my shoes! I am thinking of building a thermostat to or buying a dimmer switch to lower the maximum temperature that this thing can produce. I have found a lot of similar products that state the max temp to be 140 degrees F.

Q-Mark HT2024SS 240 Volt Digital Programmable Wall Heater With 5/2 Day Thermostat

Looks hot ! But left me cold.
I loved the design of this heater. All the elements are there to deliver a well designed Smart Space heater and it looks good. The unit is fully programmable allowing you to set the temperature independently for four separate periods of the day.

But all of this is wasted since the heater never heats the room to the set temperature. The heater obviously has enough wattage to do the job, but it appears that the integrated thermostat is sensing the higher temperature of the unit and not the temperature of the air in the room causing the unit to shut down prematurely. This could be easily corrected by the manufacturer if they programmed the blower to run longer to purge the excess heat from the unit allowing it to reach room temp. Called the company they suggested that my unit was defective and that I should return it for an new one, I did that and got the same results. I kept the unit to avoid having to fix a big hole in my wall !

Really want to love this, but it doesn't produce enough heat.
I purchased this heater to replace two baseboard electric units in a room about 15 by 20. Theoretically, this should produce enough BTUs to heat a room that size with no problem. I also liked the fact that it's programmable. In practice, however, the heater never seems to produce enough heat, struggling on even moderately cold days. We get much more heat from a stand-up space heater. The all-in-one design may be a part of the problem, as the thermostat consistently registers a much a higher temperature than thermometers placed around the room. My guess is that as the air near the heater warms up, the unit turns itself down. On the plus side, it is quiet and much more design-friendly than other wall heating units.

Electric Ceramic Desktop Space Heater, 1500 Watts

Great for dorm room
I live in a dorm where the heating is controlled and the university has yet to turn on the heat, leaving me freezing until they do. I tend to be super cold all the time, so wanted to invest in a decent heater. I was therefore siding with the Lasko 23 inch tower, (larger than average dorm room). It is harder to lug the tower home though, and definitely slightly pricier (i was buying from bed, bath and beyond). So I took the chance with this cheaper and smaller heater.
It is GREAT. As soon as you plug it in, it starts heating up the space. It rotates and evenly spreads heat. It is great for keeping the space you are sitting in, and the general area/radius around you very warm.
It is not big enough to keep the ENTIRE room warm, but since it is SO good at keeping me warm on my bed/the area where I'm sitting/studying, I cannot feel the cold draft inside the room whatsoever.
This is GREAT for a dorm room, especially if your dorm is smaller than my room, it'll do a much...

Blows all other ceramic heaters away
I work in a place that gets cold in the winter and never really warms up comfortably even when the heat is on, so people bring in their heaters. There are at least 5 different brand heaters at work, including my comfort zone heater. When I tried this one, it really puts out the heat, much more than the others, so I looked at the brand. I've been looking for it in stores ever since. I don't know who brought it in since there was no name, but I want one of these.

Great little heater
Love this space heater. I have been searching for a good office heater for years. One that is quiet and does the job. I've used many different heaters and this one by far is the best one for the price. It is small, quiet and provides quite a bit of heat under my desk. It can also be used as a fan.

Holmes HCH4062B-UM Small Ceramic Heater with Manual Control

small but powerful
I could be jinxing myself by writing this review, but this is the first space heater I've owned that hasn't flaked out on me after a few months - I've had this one for about two years and I use it virtually every weekday at work since my office is like a meat locker. It's small, puts out a good amount of heat and it's fairly quiet - though just loud enough that I think of it as doubling as a white noise machine, which for my work setting is very useful. It has a thermostat and two heat settings (though frankly I can't feel the difference between them so I just keep it on "1"). Probably not good for use around children/pets; aside from the obvious dangers, this unit is also very small and lightweight and could be easily tipped over.
Update 10/18/13: 1 year later and it's still functional after almost daily use! Upgraded from 4 stars to 5. :D

Powerful but compact
As another reveiwer noted, this is not a safety heater. If you have small children or pets, you will want larger sized heater that is designed to not get too hot to the touch. This is very powerful heater, and due to its small compact size the heat is concentrated all in one small area, which understandably gets very hot. I like this heater a lot, and I previously purchased 3 of them. The controls are straighforward and functional, the size is small, and it looks sharp. Unfortunately one of the 3 stopped working after 1.5 years, thus my 4 star rating instead of 5.

Bought a second heater because we liked the first so much.
Excellent space heater! Used in 1-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles for cool desert nights in fall/spring and cool days and nights in winter. Never even lit the pilot light for the wall-mounted heater in the apartment. Moved to NJ and use the heater in my office at work. Bought a second one for the 2-bedroom apartment. Great for bedrooms and even medium-sized living rooms.

Pelonis 1,500-watt Portable Electric Oil-filled Radiant Heater

works well - but you have to know how to use a radiant heater
works well
keeps bedroom warm at night so
we dont need to run the furnace heating the whole house

radiant heaters need to be near a wall
preferably where a window lets cold air in
they heat the air and it curculates up and around the room
they do not radiate out next to you so dont put them in the middle of the room like a ceramic space heater with a fan

ours worked well but is now not heating as much
still working though

will try on medium setting instead of low

getting two more at home depot on sale

dont get fooled by the bad reviews by people who dont know how to use a radiant heater
but dont overlook the ones that said they had failures of switches or leaks etc
failures should be rare but do happen with any product
stupid users should be rare but are all too frequent

Sketchy Knob
I bought this heater to warm a small one bedroom (barely insulated) home and it did well when the temperatures outside ranged from 40-55 degrees but when it got into the teens and 20s outside, this thing could not compete. Typically I find that it raises the inside temperature about 17-21 degrees above the outside temp. When it was in the teens and twenties, I was only seeing about a 15 degree increase, on high all of the time.

I am pretty accepting of the fact that there was typically a consistent 20 degree increase in temperature, but now that mine has stopped working completely, I'm not such a big fan of this giant thing just taking up space in my room. I'm almost 100% sure that the problem is a faulty dial/knob. When I first started having issues with this knob was when for some weird reason it wouldn't turn on high anymore... only med and low. Then it stopped turning on when I turned it to med, only working on low. Then the orange "on" light started blinking when I...

Buy a better quality heater
My delonghi floor heater quit working after about 10 years so I went to home depot to buy another affordable one. I ended up picking the pelonis because it was on sale. The first thing I noticed was the pungent odor it gave off so I didn't really want it in my bedroom where the air would be enclosed so I used it as the kitchen heater. Then, after a few weeks the plug melted so I replaced that. After a couple months the smell went away but then I started noticing burn marks on the outer surface of the metal from it running at a high temperature day in and day out. The metal began to warp so that I couldn't roll it properly either. Finally, after owning it for a total of 4 months it burnt out. I really wish I would have saved my money for something else.

Optimus H-7004 Portable Ceramic Heater with Thermostat

Good value, but a bit noisy.
Good value. It works well, it's light and compact. However it's a bit noisy. I wanted a discreet heater to use in my office, and it's not really quiet. One security feature includes a button under the heater which will turn off the heater if it rolls over. However, it will also turn off the heater if it stand on a soft surface (like carpet) which can be annoying.

Staying Warm in Kansas
I love my little heater. It keeps my feet toasty warm while I'm playing on my computer. I would highly recommend this to any one interested in purchasing a small room heater.

A bad dog
We bought this unit in January 2010 for use in our small RV. We used it on two trips. On the second one, the heater suddenly gave us a fireworks display of tiny sparks. It kept working, but we were uncomfortable using it without "supervision." Kind of like having a bad dog in the house. We couldn't use it overnight, for instance. Didn't think much about it over the summer, but we just plugged it back in to clean up the RV. It immediately sparked again. This time it smelled like an electrical fire and quit heating. It's in the dumpster.

World Marketing of America KW-12 Kero-World Compact Convection Style Kerosene Wick Heater, 10500 BTU

works well
Gives out nice warm glowing heat. Shows more flame (safely) than the Sengoku OR -77 I have also used. Also I've found I can start it up inside the house with minimum smell. ( all kero heaters give off some smell when lighting and putting out) Real cozy feel, perfect for my small living room on a cold winter night. Although I have to pay an outrageous 5.69$ per gallon for kero here on eastern Long Island, New York I still love using it. And it does not smell at all. Repeat to your wife, husband, relatives- kerosene heaters when working properly give off no smell!

Flame Problems
Got this heater from Truvalue Hardware Jan 2013 and there is something wrong with the heater. After it warms up in about 6 minutes, the flame is very uneven and huge. The flame goes up the back of the glass and covers the top of the burn chamber. By holding the wick release lever and backing off on the adjustment knob I can get the flame to reduce, however is uneven. In the front it will be 1/2 inch and in the back 3 inch. It is annoying.

BEST HEATER I EVER OWNED
I had a friend purchase this heater for me. I must say that it is the BEST little heater I have ever owned. The owners manual says to use 1k clear kerosene. I used the 1k clear and worked great, but I ran out of the clear I dry burned the wick and put in red kerosene. The flame is now more uniform and puts out WAY more heat than it did with the clear. I get the red kerosene from a gas station named SHELL OIL. If you get GOOD quality red the heater will exceed your expectations. Alot of people say that the wick adjusted doesn't give enough slack to back off flame to regulate the flame but my heater does. I dry burn the wick after every 4 tanks of fuel to keep wick soft and carbon free. There is only odor when first starting and shutting down the heater. But I have completely eliminated odors by buying a catalytic filter from Miles Stair Wick Shop, they are less than $10. The filter is suspended by 3 stainless steel wires that you suspend about 4 inches above the heater chimney. This...

LASKO Digital Ceramic Tower Heater

Great Heater for Great Price!!!
I just got this Heater and LOVE IT!! I'm so glad I bought this one because I had just bought a Holmes (non-ceramic) and hated it.
This heater really heats up the space quick, is quiet, has a remote and is perfect in its design because it fits everywhere. Great looking Heater too!!

What a buy!
Is it possible to love a heater? If so, I do. This little guy puts out some serious heat, distributes it well in my 15'x15' room, and does both quietly. Prior to buying this, I had purchased a radiator type heater that just didn't put out much heat so I returned it. I love that I can turn on the thermostat and let it go. Nothing more to think about. The oscillation feature is a huge perk. The only thing I'd add is a feature that automatically turns the unit off if it is knocked over. I paid fifty bucks for it at my local HD, which I did so I could easily return it if need be. No need. I'll run this thing 'til it keels over.

Unfortunately not above 4500 feet
Great heater unless you live above 4500 feet. Not recommended above 4500 feet as the pilot will not stay on. This is the same with all these type of heaters

Kozy World - what I expected
I have had this LP heater in operation for a few weeks. It has definitely served the purpose that I expected. I have a similar heater made by a different company. When comparing the two, I have to say that this heater has some odor do it whereas the other does not. It puts out the heat properly and other than the odor, I am completely satisfied.

Kozy!
My husband and I put this unit in our new living room. It is not the most attractive unit but it certainly keeps our 840 square foot living room very comfortable. We had been advised to not purchase the stand to go with this so my husband built a stand that works very well. We like that there is no electricity required to run this as there are times when our power is out for extended periods of time and we don't have to worry about getting too cold. Great product for the price!

SpeedHeat Rugbuddy 370 Under Rug Space Heater, 5' X 7'

Wonderful product!
I bought one of these early in the year & it has been a blessing in my old, drafty, under-insulated house. I don't need to crank up the expensive gas heating, but I stay nice & warm in my family room now. I am saving up to buy 2 more in smaller sizes for other rooms. The increase in my electric bill has been slight, but the decrease in my gas bill has been noticeable!

Plus my older cat loves it too! She just lays right down & goes to sleep!

Loved so much - bought a 2nd one!
We bought our first rug buddy (5x7) for our baby's nursery and love it! It keeps his room warm (with a programmable outlet thermostat we also ordered) while we can keep our bedroom and the rest of the house cool. We loved it so much we bought a second one for our drafty living room. Guests always comment on how great it feels!

Great for cold spots!
This has saved my life. I live in a split-level house, and my entry levels are always too cold while my upstairs are always too hot. Speedheat has saved me by allowing me to just heat one room at a time...and you don't have to rip up your floors to use it either! - just throw it under a rug, plug it in, and go!

Fahrenheat BRH562 Heavy Duty Construction Heater, 30-Amp

great little heater
great heater for the price and size, heats my 2 1/2 car garage just fine. On low keeps garage at about 45 degrees and will get it up to 70+ degrees on medium +, here in chicago cold weather.

Alot of Bang for the Buck
This heater does a great job of heating my 24x26 two car garage in northern Indiana. It arrived from the seller within 48hours of placing my order with standard delivery. The only thing that keeps it from being a five star is lack of a mounting assembly. A little bit of chain wrapped around a ceiling joist took care of that though. It does require a special 240 volt outlet, but the materials to run it can be purchased at any home improvement store. It took me about 20 minutes to run the wire and install the outlet and breaker.

Simple yet effective - requires special voltage and outlet
I live in Texas and have a 520 sq ft garage with ceiling/walls insulated, 1 car garage door not insulated and 3 windows. I checked around for code requirements in our area and wired the 240 v/30 amp electrical myself. Mounted the unit hanging down from the ceiling, turned it on and in 2 hours it already had the upper half of the garage up to 60f degrees when 35f outside. Let it run overnight and the garage was 75f next morning....low to mid 30s outside. Thermostat on the unit turns off the fan and heater coils once chosen temperature is reached. Shipper had issues getting the unit shipped... stated waiting for manufacture to ship. Per Amazon's recommendation, I had to send a followup e-mail to shipper to get status of shipment. After that, the shipper sent status mails until the unit had a shipping tracking number. If you need this unit, order early. Took 2 weeks to arrive from the day I ordered it. For our needs ... great price, compact unit and heats as expected.

Hot...but not
Provides a generous amount of heat. Also generates a loud high pitched whine from the fan. I am returning it

Great heater
This heater does a great job. I got this heater for when we go tent camping. It was about 35 degrees out the first night and we had to turn the heater back b/c it got too warm.

Waste of money
I'm not going to say that I'm a "heater" expert but I got a pretty good idea how one is "supposed" to work. This heater sucks ***. I have an average size bedroom just barely knocks the chill off, makes noise, AND the worse of the worst...it cuts on and off for no appartent reason (I got 2 at 2 different places/times so I know its not necessarily defective).

Another thing that you might find funny is that this looks "exactly" like the Lakewood heater I previously had...except that the name on it is different. I think somebody trying to run game. Bottom line keep searching (cause I am) & try your luck on another one because this one is some crap if you have an average size room and want one without the noise or cuts off all the god dangin time.

Honeywell 1,500-Watt All Metal Heater #HZ-2110

Meet "Sparky"
This is a pretty good, little, electric heater. It's in an all-metal case. It has a non-detented thermostat. The detented power knob (Off, Fan only, I. (less power), II., III. (more power)) works much like opening a prescription pill bottle. The plastic, hinged handle is nice, too. I tested the tip over feature while moving it on the floor, and it works well! The whole unit shuts off if it's even a little out of plumb.

"Sparky," as I named him, gets pretty hot. The fan blows at what I'll call a slow to medium rate--sufficient to circulate the air and quite quiet. The thermostat works well, too.

Holmes HFH421-U Heater Fan with Adjustable Thermostat

*gamer tested
Here in MI things get cold quick and living in a cold finished basement makes things tough. My computer room is a tiny 6x10 and doesn't have vents for heat. The hallway near the doorway lacks them as well so it gets very cold. When I saw this heater for [...] i figured to give it a try for that room.

The heat is just about instant. No waiting for it to warm up. The thermostat works nice to keep the room at a very comfortable level. Nice to have so you don't have to keep adjusting and turning on and off. Sound is very quiet. Much more quiet than my normal desk fan, but it sits on the floor under the desk. I just realized its sitting right on the carpet and I wouldn't worry about it falling over or anything. It is very sturdy and kicking it somewhat gently doesn't knock it over. The unit is very cool to the touch even while running. I actually picked it up while running and was examining the bottom.

I was kinda disappointed about one thing. From the picture on the...

A great buy
I used this both for cooling (in fan-only mode) and heating. The heat works great, and it warms up almost instantly. The cooling side is good, but it doesn't push as much air as some regular fans, so I need it a 2-3 feet away to feel enough breeze to cool me.

The plastic grill does rapidly change color to show it's hot, but I found that unneeded because the grill itself never gets hot. At times, I've had it accidently fall over or get covered, and it's never overheated or made something crispy. :-)

The thermostat also works well, and is easy and user-friendly to adjust. The fan is very quiet; sometimes I don't notice it's on. It's very lightweight and is easily swiveled to fine-tune the direction.

Mine finally died after frequent use for 8-10 months, but I feel I got my money's worth, and I'm buying another to replace it.

Great heater, short longevity
I bought this heater early January when we went through some cold weather in Miami. I was very pleased with the way the heater was heating up my bedroom (about 12x12). You can set the heater at the temperature that is comfortable to you (note that there are no precise thermostats that allows you to set your room at a specific temperature, but just a comfort thermostat that works just fine). it generates a lot of heat in a short period of time and woks wonder.
My only issue is that it stopped functioning after only a month. I may have bought a bad one. I called Holmes, gave the serial number and promptly sent me a new one by UPS.
I was very pleased with their customer service and I just hope this one will last longer.

You have to look to see it is not real.
My wife and I love this fireplace. The only drawback is the glass is NOT anti-reflective. The fire is as real as something like this can get.

this is an excellent product providing the ambiance of a real fireplace without the hassle of a wood burning unit. I would recommend it for anyone.

Rugbuddy 165L under Rug Space Heater, 2' X 7.5'

A really good purchase
This under rug heater was purchased for an outdoor enclosure where our several semi feral cats spend cold winter nights. So far it seems to be working out wonderfully well and I'm only sorry that I didn't get one a long time ago. I hesitated due to the cost, but I'm sure I've wasted much more than it's price on heated pet beds which have not held up at all well.

Warm and toasty carpet in my freezing bathroom!
My master bath is over the garage and not well insulated. It's so chilly taking a shower in the morning. We got a timer and set the Rugbuddy to warm up about 1/2 hour before my husband gets up. The bathroom is warmer. Standing on the rug really warms you up. It won't warm the room significantly but just standing on it after getting out of the shower and while getting ready is much more comfortable. I even lay my clothing out on the rug and by the time I get out of the shower they are warmed up. This is a great product!

Max Burton 12 Volt 150/300W Ceramic Heater And Fan

think about how much you are paying
This not the cheapest, but not the most expensive electric 12 volt heater. I use it to heat a mid size sedan, with no heater. It does not do much in the cigarette lighter socket, but if you use some 14 or 12 gauge wire to directly connect it to the battery you get a lot more. Not like a house hold 1500 watt ceramic heater, but it will get noticeably warmer in a short time. Remember electric heat is instant, no waiting for your engine to warm up. It draws about 25 amps in 300 watt mode. You can always spend more and go for the 1100 watt heater but for where I live there will not be enough cold weather to justify that kind of money.

Check to make sure your car's alternator can produce enough amps to power the heater

Max Burton 12 Volt 150/300W Ceramic Heater - Does Not Heat!
Max Burton 12 Volt 150/300W Ceramic Heater:

Don't bother with this thing. It doesn't heat at all.
A total waste of money.

junk
bought the item hoping it would help me keep warm while my diesel pickup was warming up.have to cut the cigarette attachment off to connect to my battery because the manual says it will work better.well once you cut it off you cant return it.blows barely any heat and was a waste of money.

Mr. Heater 10,000 BTU Propane Blue Flame Vent Free Heater #VF10KBLUELP

What a rip
Purchased this product last year. It worked fine for about 6 weeks. Then it started shutting itself off. I tried 2 or 3 times to contact the company and never received a reply. Started trying to use it again this year. It worked for about 2 weeks then it started the same old stuff again. Read thru the manual, followed the instructions exactly. Still it doesn't work right. Still can't get anyone to return my messages. If you get one, I hope it works for you, cause if it doesn't, you're just screwed. There is NO customer support. I'll never buy another product from this company and will tell anyone I know not to either.

RTFM
This review applies to lots of Mr. Heater products.

I have owned 3 Mr. Heater products for several years now: a Portable Buddy and two Big Buddies. Initially I had the same frustrating issues with them. After a period of use, they would not stay lit. After contacting the company and getting a replacement regulator for one of the units, I came to understand a few things that are necessary for their proper operation:

1. Propane contains a bit of oil that will eventually clog the regulator and render it inoperative.
2. The black supply line that I bought reacts with the oil and/or propane, creating an even bigger mess.
3. There is a green supply line available from Mr. Heater that does not react with the oil/gas.
4. The problem is nearly eliminated by just following the instructions in the operating manual:

"To shut off heater, shut off propane at supply tank, allow heater to use-up propane in supply line until heater shuts off,...

Good deal
It's a good deal but I couldn't use it because of the moisture that burning propane puts back into the air. Otherwise, it worked real good.

Pro-Com Dual Fuel Blue Flame Wall Heater (MD100HBA)

3rd Winter in Use - Remember to Clean It
I bought this for backup heat as our central furnace is very old and the pilot goes out occasionally. We also live in an area where power has been out for ten days twice in the past five years. Once I installed it, I decided to leave it on to save on heating bills. Now our 60% efficient furnace kicks on half as often saving us enough to pay for the heater. I set the thermostat just below that of the main and it keeps this small house tolerable even if we lose power in the middle of the night. The main furnace went out the other night and we didn't even realize it until lunch.

Just this week the oxygen depletion sensor started shutting it down. I reread the manual and realized I had never cleaned it which requires only a Phillips head screwdriver to take it apart, Windex to clean the surfaces, and a straw to blow the dust out of the burner. When the flames stay yellow on the tips it is time for a cleaning.

Very Satisfied and Warmer!
Different dealers on Amazon where out of stock on this heater. Amazon referred one more and they were actually cheaper.

I am heating double the capacity. Good thing that is not so cold in California. Next winter I will buy the larger unit and we will use this unit in the smaller room. Got rid of the ceiling mildew problem due to an old fashion central floor heater in this uninsulated, turn of the last century, farm house. We added a vent high in the wall per instructions in order to circulate the heat and left the doors open.

It is hard starting on occasion. I thing that this is due to timing. If too much gas enters before ignition, the oxygen safety sensor kicks in. Usually, letting it rest a while will result in a start. The start button sticks from time too time. Good quality components inside and easy to switch to propane in an emergency.

Good quality, mediocre performance
The Pro-Com wall heater I purchased for my 192 sq ft garage/workshop. The shipping I was a little disappointed with since it took almost a full week just to leave the shipper but it was free so I anticipated a wait regardless. The unit itself was a bear to get working well. I ended up needing a 2 stage propane regulator which is not spelled out at all in the ProCom manual. I have a 100 lb tank as recommended and you need to keep your gas pipe run as short as possible and use 1/2" pipe to stay within their guidelines.

Starting the unit requires you to hold the button down for a bit until you get enough gas to light the pilot. Then you have to hold that pilot for a solid minute or longer to keep it from going out. Once going the heat takes quite a while to warm a space up. I honestly wish I would have bought something else. When temps dropped into the 30's outside it took 1.5 hours to warm up my well insulated space. Kind of disappointing since I use it as a home gym area...

Mr. Heater F270255 MH50KR Contractor 50,000-BTU Forced-Air Kerosene Heater

Documentation Sucks
The manufacturer proudly states that this heater will run on diesel fuel as well as on kersosene. However, in using #2 diesel fuel the heater belched out enough flames and fumes to simulate tear gas. According to the red tag attached to the heater, fuel changes may require "air pressure adjustments" to the heater. The reader is referred to the operating manual. Fair enough -- So I read the section on "adjusting pump pressure" on page E-4.

The manual, however, talks about the "fuel pressure adjustment screw." To add to the confusion, the manual identifies ref. #29 on the exploded view parts diagram as the fuel adjustment screw. However, it is not even close. When I finally found the adjustment screw, it was somewhere else and it was labeled "output filter."

Until the trial and error process was completed, this unit spewed out enough crap to cause the CO2 detector in an open garage to go off repeatedly. (Hey, Consumer Products Safety Commission, are you...

Very effective and efficient!!! Has helped me get my race car ready over the winter!!
Bought this after a lot of reasearch; I have an un-heated un-insulated garage in Chicago area to work on my race-car. Needed to do a lot of maintenance this off season and the heater is certainly helping me work comfortably. I can get the temps in the garage to 58-65 when then outside temp are around 10-30.

Does The Job
Quieter than my old Craftsman. Burns Kero. and Diesel. Problem with a cracked fuel hose after a year was traced to faulty batch of hose. Customer Service (The real people at the manufacturer in Cleveland) were helpful in resolving the problem although i had already replaced the hose. Also has on/off switch unlike my old Craftsman. The free shipping made this a fantastic deal.

Heat Surge Mini Mate Decorative Heater

Excellent little heater!
Just received my heater & was amazed at how much heat it throws out! One thing I like is that the vent is on top. I have a freestanding Dura Flame that has the vent on the bottom & doesn't even come close to the Heat Surge. I do wish that it had the remote feature on the mini.

Great Product
I only recently discovered that this small Heat Surge is being made. Looks great at night and puts out a surprising amount of heat for its size.

Very effective for small rooms
It is nice looking and puts out a fair amount of heat. Do not, however, expect it to heat much more than a small room.

Dr Infrared Heater Portable Quartz + PTC Infrared Space Heater - 1500W, Dual Heating System, UL Listed.

Good space heater, love it
I bought this from eBay for around $190. I have two other electric space heaters so comparison was an easy task. I bought it for our high ceiling bedroom which is about 300 sf. Ceramic heater was useless because hot air would rise up. Then I bought a Holmes Infrared Quartz Heater from Wal-Mart , this was a lot better than the ceramic heater but the fan was really noisy and there was no way to turn it off. Holmes Quartz Heater gives you SUN Like heat and the heat does not rise up like ceramic heaters. Anyways it was way too noisy, You can't have a restful sleep with that thing. Still I thought there was something right with the infrared heaters. Then I looked into Edenpure and other more expensive infrared heaters. They looked promising now that I was already sold on the idea of infrared heating but they were really expensive. Then I looked at eBay and found Dr Heater. Customer Feedback was pretty good so I decided to give it a shot. It arrived in 5 days and I first tried it in our...

Great Little PTC Heater...
I have an Iheater and the Dr. Heater and I like the Dr. Heater better. They are both good units but the Dr. Heater is smaller and easier to carry around from place to place if needed and the wheels underneath are spaced closer together thus easier to place on top of other units such as a speaker unit that is not in use or a large air purifier that I have thus not taking up any floor space if needed. It also blows heat out harder than the Iheater but in the end, I think they both kick out about the same amount of heat energy.

The Dr. Heater is made of real wood also, where the Iheater and allot of others on the market have plastic shells.

Keep in mind folks that these are just space heaters BUT they are more power efficient and do kick out a bit more heat than the other numerous space heaters that I have and I have quite a few unfortunately... I have found that they do heat very large areas by them selves but do take a while to bring it up to temperature but once...

PTC TECHNOLOGY
C. Ferrisi may not quite understand what PTC is. I looked it up. "Positive temperature co-efficient - PTC heating elements are small ceramic stones with self temperature limiting characteristics. PTC stones have fast heating response times and plateau once the pre-defined reference temperature is reached." The infrared lights produce the heat. This type of heating is how you can heat a large area without creating a huge electric bill. Which is why we have a couple around the house so our furnace (which is electric) will not kick on as often. It saves electricity without having to run around the house in a parka! LOL

Stand-Up Quartz Heater w/ 2 Heat Settings - 400/800W

Great heater, but delicate!!
I've bought three of these because we love them - great design - efficient and quiet!
BUT they break easily (the little wire that heats up inside the quartz tube) - then, if you're handy, you can dismantle it and re-attach the wire, like I did, and have had to do about 5 times now!! That's the main problem with this otherwise great heater.

Quartz Heater
This is a nice heater that works just great. It feels kinda frail and might/probably won't last very long but for the price what can you expect. It isn't easy finding a 400/800W heater for some reason. I would love it if someone built a really tough heater for smaller spaces like this one.

Lasko 5511 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater

works well, but a little noisy
Its nice because it does the job of a larger heater without the footprint, it can sit in a corner, by a desk, or even in the middle of a room and not dominate the space. The remote is a nice touch, the heater itself is very high quality, I have had this for almost a year now and works just fine.

Lasko 5511 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater
I have always used Lasko products in regards to heaters and fans, but Lasko as a whole, has incredibly decreased in product quality and performance. I understand that the title indicates that this certain model is a heater, but with all three other Lasko products (2001 and older) I own, they also work as fans capable of emitting cold air. Also, they have safety features with a sensor underneath so that if the unit falls over, it automatically turns off, along with another sensor in front that also turns it off if something is too close to the heater. And all three also come with more sleep time frames. This particular model is missing all three features and it was more expensive then the others. So I give it three stars for efficiently working as advertised, but not coming equipped with the features that gave rise to Lasko.

Great heater
We bought one of these heaters last winter and love it! We needed a second, so we bought the exact same thing!

ProCom Vent-Free Dual Fuel Infrared Radiant Wall Heater - 2-Plaque, 10,000 BTU

My install experience with this heater.
I just installed this heater a couple of days ago and have been using it the last two nights. Here are my thoughts on it: Installation instructions and operation manual are pretty straight forward. As is the install - not a big deal. Only trouble I had was that the gas port on the bottom comes with a metal plug in it (to keep moisture out of the heater while it is being stored in the warehouse) and it was a bit tight to get out. A hex key came with the heater for plug removal but I had to put a 'cheater' on the hex key to get a little more leverage.
I have run it the last couple of nights and here is what I found: it only got down to the low 40's (Fahrenheit) here so I put the dial on "2" and the heater would not kick on until my room temperature dropped to about 68 degrees. It stays on until the temperature hits 70 and then it shuts off and the pilot light remains on. When the heater is running and generating heat it makes a small "shushing" sound that I find is pleasant white...

great little propane heater
We live in an old farmhouse circa 1905. No insulation. These little gas heaters are a life saver. I recommend!

Makes very good heat and does't cost alot to run, but I wish it had a fan for it.
I have a larger one of these and I really like it. I like this one as well, but I really want to see ProCom make a fan for it and include it in the price of this unit. The main reason being "It really would help to have the fan in it." It puts out heat very well, but you need something to help circulate it. So I use a a standing fan or something else to help move it around. They should at least offer a unit with a built in fan, even if it cost a good chunk more. If you're looking for good quick heat and heat that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, then you found what you want. Just make sure to get a small fan to help move the heat around.

SUNBEAM Fan Heater, 1 Touch Electric Thermostat, alci Plug

Fantastic heater for midsized rooms!
We bought one of these 2 years ago for our daughers room. It did amazingly well in her 10x10 room. My husband just broke our small ceramic heater which tbh, was a huge energy hog and never shut off. We turned our daughters on and put it between both rooms, and it got to temp for her room, plus our 14x15 room and shut off! I went out tonight and purchased a 2nd from walmart, which was much cheaper than amazon. This one, unlike the last version, has a optional wall mount. We will probably actually skip wall mounting it because of airflow.

They seem to work much better than the small picture on the box saying "small room" would lead you to believe. Fantastic little heaters. Pretty quiet too.

We have some older wiring in our house that just recently got upgraded to 3 prong outlets. We keep the heaters on the low setting to make sure we dont trip a breaker. But on a really cold night, if we turn it to high, we let it run and it seems to not mess with the...

Great Heater - But Walmart is Under $30
I've had mine for 3 years and love it! In that time, my husband has had 3 in his bathroom... the last one just stopped working (a Holmes Bathroom Heater). I told him NOT to go out & buy another & I'd try to order him my Sunbeam 1 Touch. So happy that Amazon carries it!!! I recommend that you buy the Sunbeam 1 Touch Heater if you want a great performing heater that will last and last! But I don't understand WHY it's over $50 at Amazon and Under $30 at Walmart. Went to Walmart's website & got it there instead.

LOVE!
I purchased this little guy from a store a year ago. I loved it then, and it's still going strong now! The thermostat feature is perfect, because I change my mind on the settings constantly, and would otherwise melt/freeze before snapping out of my work to turn it on/off. Especially at night when I'm sleeping.
My two cats love it, too! It's been safe and fairly quiet, while providing a wonderful amount of heat for my living and bed rooms. I am now shopping for a second one to heat up more spaces more quickly.

Bionaire BH1519-UM Micathermic Flat Panel Heater

Disappointing
I ordered this in hopes of upgrading from my ancient DeLonghi oil-filled radiator, but the Bionaire is not up to the job. It puts out much less heat than any of my other four whole room space heaters (two DeLonghi oil-filled radiators, one Lakewood oil-filled baseboard heater, and one Honeywell oscillating ceramic heater). I'm returning the Bionaire tomorrow after a week of ownership.

There is one thing I like about this heater: it has two lights, one to indicate that it's plugged in and the other to indicate that it's turned on. I wish more heaters had both lights.

However I have far more gripes than praise for this heater. For one thing, as of this writing, Bionaire fails to mention two very important facts on its website and in its description: unlike some other Bionaire heaters with five year warranties, this one only has a one year warranty and it's only a 1000 watt heater. I confirmed with my Kill-A-Watt meter that the low setting is 900 watts and the...

Steady silent heat
I recently bought this at a warehouse store and just love it. I've had at least 4 heater fans and for some reason, I usually get more fan than heater! I hate the cold air that blows around with most heater fans, giving me a sore throat in the morning. However, this Bionaire heater is so much better. On low, it give silent heat with no breeze. If you like the fan thing, you can turn it to high and it will blow the air around. I find high to be useful for getting the room warm, but once it is, I just turn it back to low. The only difference between high and low is the fan. The temp is adjustable with another dial.

The design is very nice-modern and compact. Lightweight. Much better than oil-filled heaters. Recently returned one of those last weekend.

My only complaint is that sometimes in the morning it doesn't heat as well as it did all night. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the thermostat, but that would probably make the most sense. Since the outside...

So far so good...
When I saw this for half the price at a large wholesale store I decided to give it a shot to replace older model BH3699-UM. I only had it for a few days, but so far I was not disappointed. Here is what improved over older model:

- Style, much more pleasing
- Size, about 15-20% smaller
- Feels lighter
- Heating speed has been improved. You can turn it on with the fan and almost immediately feel the warmth
- Built-in fan which provides slight heat draft, but it is noisy
- Does not make loud clicking noises during on/off cycle

Not much negatives yet, I am still in trial period, but it does not have 750 watt option as the older model

There is still smell when you first turn it on, so make sure to run it at the garage for first hour.

Century 14,000 BTU Heater/Cooker

A wondeful product not found in stores...
I had a few months to shop casually for a portable heater like this one, and I went to every local sporting goods store I could find, as well as Wal-Mart and Target, to give local retailers a chance to make the sale with me.

As it turned out, some of the more "hardcore" outdoors retailers, such as "REI Co-op", and Turner's Outdoors had only one brand (REI) or no brands (Turner's Outdoors) to sell. Wal-Mart only had the Coleman brand, and many other sporting goods stores had NOTHING to show in the way of a heater. Many of the current retailers lack of inventory offering which is supposedly saving them from carrying "dead stock" or "slow movers" is merely weaning cusomers OFF of the store-based retail format, and ONTO the Internet as a first-choice retail format for buying goods.

I rate this heater and it's versatility a 5+. It has nothing to wear out, it's made entirely of steel, it has an adjustable heat range, it can be very HOT, and when flipped around, it...

mis-q on assembly
shipping was on time but when doing the assembly of the heater to the holding bracket it will not stay in the slots and the bracket was welded to the heater so it does not fit in the holder properly. the heater should sit upwright. It fit into the stand and falls to one side until the propane bottle supports the whole heater assembly.

Works Perfectly!
After doing some research on heaters for high altitude camping, we decided to purchase this heater, despite the other reviews. It has been a great heater for us! Any noise that this heater makes while operating isn't at all annoying or loud. It stayed lit without any problems (you have to hold in the red gas valve until it catches) and it kicks out a LOT of heat. We've used it with the small propane cylinders, as well as with a hose and large propane tank. It's fairly small and very light-weight so it does well being stored in our pop-up camper. We have not used it as a "cooker," just for heat, so we can't comment on how it does in that operation. But most important for us, we haven't had any problems with it operating in the mountains at 7500 feet. We do have to caution our children when it is on so that they are aware of it and don't get too close.

Dimplex DFI2309 Electric Fireplace Insert Heater, Black

Very good for tight spaces.
We have an old coal fireplace which is only 8" deep. We could not find any type of gas flame logs that would fit at all. This product installed easily and fit almost perfectly into the space. We still get the look of a fire and additional heat. The heater aspect of it has a high & low setting and is very quiet. Another advantage point is we don't have to worry about small children getting to close to a flame and getting burnt. I am very pleased with this product.

The Flame Looks So Real
Last summer I had our wood burning medal fireplace chimney removed and the fireplace capped. This left our fireplace useless. I looked at gas inserts and gas logs but didnt like the way they looked or they wouldn't fit. Then I saw this Dimplex electric in a furniture store. I was amazed how real it looked. I ordered it.It only took 3 days to come. Took it out of the box and put it in the fireplace opening and had it going in 20 minutes. It looks far better than any gas unit. The flame looks real and the embers looks great too. Guests come to the house and say it looks like a real fire. I am very happy with this unit. Thank you Dimplex and thank you Amazon.

Love it!
I love the look and feel of fireplaces, but they are very rare in South Florida, where I live. An artificial fireplace was the answer for me. I bought this insert to replace a unit that burned gel cans in a freestanding fireplace. This electric unit is beautiful! I like it so much more than the gel can type. This unit has a very realistic look. The logs are "real" (3-dimensional), not painted onto a screen like some others I've seen. The embers seem like they are really glowing and the "flames" dance realistically. And it is nice to be able to use it without heat if you wish. I highly recommend this fireplace insert.

Comfort Zone Infrared Quartz Heater - 3413 BTU, 1000 Watts, Model# CZ2011P

Just one problem
This compact heater seemed ok for the first couple days then it started tripping the breaker. Not sure if defective but the company was really great about returning it. Also it didn't put out as much heat as I thought it would for my 14x 30'room.

Heater is loud and not as effective as claimed
The manufacturer lists this space heater as having a `whisper quiet operation' and `fan-forced for wide heat dispersion'. My experience has been that neither of these claims is true. My most important need is to find a quiet heater. It was quiet for the first few days but then it began to make a loud click when it turns on in the middle of the night, and unfortunately it wakes me up each time. It also takes quite a while to heat up my bedroom that has a size much smaller than a larger den or living room. In fairness, it does eventually reach the desired temperature however. Additionally, when I press some of the buttons on my TV remote, the heater also responds and reduces the desired temperature by 1 degree for each time pressed. This can be a problem when watching TV in the bedroom. I seldom give a severely poor rating to any product, but this time I must rate this one with only 1 star. Not only does it miss meeting my most important needs, it advertised that it DOES meet...

Buyer Beware!!!
I purchased this heater in February 2012. It no longer works! I can't get my money back and there is no way to get it fixed. We have cleaned the filter as suggested and nothing. The thermostat never worked at all, but it did heat the room sufficient so we let it go. Now it won't do anything! I am so disappointed!!! Here's another thing we figured out. The remote frequency is on the same as our flat screen TV. It messed our TV volume up and made the sound go out over and over. I hate to tell this, but we sent back 2 different televisions thinking they were faulty because of this heater. I would love to have another(different brand of course) heater but were told by Amazon we weren't entitled to anything after 30 days. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Mr. Heater Big Maxx 45,000 BTU Propane Garage Unit Heater #MHU45LP

heater
Heats OK if you can get it started. Seems company is having problems with a cold soak issue on their P.C. board, so they tell me. It takes about 10 minutes to get it going if you have turned it off and try to start it "cold". Mr Heater is suppose to come out with a new board to fix the problem next year. Also draft fan motor tends to have excessive vibration and make a considerable amount of noise.

Excellent, would recommend
Purchased the mr. heater 45k btu from my local lowes store on sale. Took about 3 hours between unpacking and converting over to propane with the conversion kit, installing the vent pipe etc. until we had it up and running. Puts out good heat, quiet and works every time. I would recommend getting a digital electronic thermostat as they seem to be more accurate than the mechanical style.

Battered and vibrates but heats well
I purchased this heater from Northern after reading some reviews here and there. Several reviews noted poor packaging and damage upon arrival. I wasn't disappointed. There were a few dents and bent parts but nothing to warrant a return. My biggest complaint about the heater is that the blower behind the unit for heating the room vibrates alot. If you walk into the room you can actually feel it as it resonates in the room. I'm guessing the fan blade is out of balance. It made the unit vibrate enough to make the whole office hum. I did see another reviewer post something about the heater vibrating badly. I replaced the bolts for the cage that protects the fan and holds the motor with some vibration isolators which quieted it down considerably. Sad that I had to fix a new machine. I'm going to call and see if I can get a new blade sent as that will be much easier than taking the whole unit down and sending it back. Other than that the unit operates great and heats the room up...

ProCom Vent-Free Dual Fuel Infrared Radiant Wall Heater - 3-Plaque, 18,000 BTU

A GOOD PRODUCT RECOMMENDED
We are so very pleased with our new procon heater. It was easy to install and it is very efficient, and safe. My husband is happy with all the safety features and I am warm. It is ideal at our seasonal cottage by the lake where we have cool temperatures in the 30's. Being so far north in the "Keweenaw", it soon will be time to close up the cottage and move out. Thank you so much!!!

Great heater arrived on time just like they said
Have bought 2 of these over the past 4 years they both work great, very efficient. We use them to heat a mountain cabin, Nice to be able to turn it down on low for freeze protection then turn it up when we arrive to heat up the cabin fast and so cozy! Very easy to install.

Super deal
I bought this after spring so I have not really used it other than testing it. From the other reviews and reputation of these heaters I think I will be very happy with it. The price was great and fast shipping. I actually got it one day earlier than expected. Buy it you will like it!

Mr. Heater 10,000 BTU Natural Gas Radiant Vent Free Heater #VF10KRADNG

Mr. Heater 10000 BTU
Quiet operation, odorless, and efficient. Surprisingly, this small natural gas heater works great in my 2500 sq.ft home. It can not heat the entire home when it is below 45 deg outside yet works well as a supplemental heater to my central heating system. I have it running 24/7 for the past month and it has saved me at least $60 in utility bill.

Note: this smaller unit does not come with an internal electric fan.

The heater produces significant infrared heat from the front so be careful about placement and location. I have several CO sensors throughout the house both high and low and there has been no detectable trace of carbon monoxide so far. Will be buying a CO2 sensor to monitor the air quality just to be safe as I plan to run it 24/7 for several months. CO2 is heavier than air, if the heater is placed higher than the ground by several feet, the automatic internal pilot light will not stop the heater until the pool level of CO2 rises high enough. This would...

Mr. Heater love it
I have more then one of these they work really well I have told several people about them they also want one

Axium WHTF250M1 Electric Portable Orbital Oscillation Space Heater Fan

What Heat?
I bought this for my small office and wish the return shipping was so expensive or it wouldnt be here. It doesn't put off any heat but rather a very noisy circulation of air. In fact the noise bothers my co-workers.

Not worth the money even if cheap!
I bought this thing about 3 weeks ago and it's already blowing cold air. In the three weeks I had it, it was doing OK, but suddenly even the high setting won't blow nothing more than a semi-warm draft. On low, it's nothing more than a room fan, no heat at ALL. Get something better if you need to warm a room. This heater is priced in the same vein that "you get what you pay for".

A waste of money.

It's loud!
While it adequately warms the room, it is distractingly loud. At times, I have to turn it off to hear someone speaking on the phone. I believe there are better Electric Heater fans out there.

Presto HeatDish Parabolic Electric Space Heater Plus Footlight

Advantages and Disadvantages of this Heater:
I purchased the Costco version of this Presto heater and LOVE IT, but it's critically important to know what you're getting into:

Infrared radiant heat from these parabolic dish heaters does NOT heat ROOM AIR much at all! It heats primarily water, things saturated with water (like we Humans), and coincidentally many Plastics---all assuming a narrow infrared focus range peaking at 3 microns (3000nm wavelength). Even longer wavelengths (3-10 microns) are possible but less specifically-aimed at human bodies and thus put heat into nearby concrete, wood floors, people, and most other materials, including many metals.

*Directional Infrared Heat* (i.e., focused Radiant Heat from these dish heaters) is VERY EFFICIENT if your goal is to put all/most of the heater's energy into YOU and not into a large room's air (or outdoor air).

BUT, this means you have to stand IN FRONT of the heater :) Otherwise, you'll barely notice much heat at all (just the small fraction...

Spot Warmth Where You Need It!
This is a radiant heater, designed to throw a "beam of heat". As a science teacher explained in junior high some 40 years ago, they do not heat the air or a room, but the objects in the path. If you are looking to warm a room, especially quickly, you want a forced air ceramic/quartz heater. If you want to warm yourself in an otherwise cold room, this is your baby. Sadly, almost every time I go to CostCo, I see someone returning one of these. Reading reviews of similar products on the web, it is clear that many folks have no clue about radiant heaters.

Like one of the other reviewers, I bought this at CostCo but for some friends who smoked on their patio and froze during the winter. They've both passed on now and their relatives gave it back to me. (I also have one in my shop.)

Our furnace is out at the moment and it is doubtful we can afford to fix it before winter is over. Here in Las Vegas it is currently 41 outside with an expected low tonight of 29...

Couldn't give it 4 stars despite the intense heat
I owned this for about 3 years before it died. Purchased from Costco (there are more reviews on there). It gives off a tremendous amount of heat in a limited space of 3 feet but that's it.
The footlight is pointless and stop working after a year. One of the Costco reviewers had this to say: "Owned a few of these and the experience is the same - and matching quite a few others here. This is an effective, LIMITED LIFE, product. It does what it says - sends a very nice stream of heat in a very limited direction. BUT it has a limited life span of 1-3 years, depending on use and luck.
The problem always seems to come down to a faulty "tip" sensor, so that the "alarm feature" - meant to warn you that the device has fallen off its perch - goes off continuously, rendering the device useless. Clearly Presto has skimped on parts there and has little interest in correcting this - as evidenced by user reports of this problem going back years... .
Note to Presto - spend a few more...
